"Thank you for being my inspiration."
To Canada's athletes, your support of the Hbc Run for Canada means the world.
Participants in the Hbc Run for Canada might think of Canada's great athletes as heroes. But you may be surprised to learn that they feel the same way about you.
Paralympian Chris Daw, now a member of the Canadian National Wheelchair Curling team, sends his heartfelt thanks to the thousands of Canadians who came out in support of the Hbc Run for Canada. He says simply, "Thank you for being my inspiration."
Chris is also grateful to Hbc: "It's so great to see such a direct commitment to helping Canadian athletes train and get on the podium."
Colleen Sostorics, 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist in Women's Hockey, and Angus Mortimer, Olympic hopeful in Flatwater Kayak Racing, second the emotion. "Thank you to all the participants in the 2007 Hbc Run for Canada. It's great to know we have so many supporters as we get ready to compete for our country," says Colleen. And Angus is grateful, too, for the financial support. "The bursaries from the Hbc Run for Canada mean athletes can have a better training environment, without the financial strain," he says. "It makes all the difference in the world."
On behalf of all Canadian athletes, a big Thank you! to everyone who participated in the Hbc Run for Canada and who helped raise $2 million in support of athletes in Canada.
We invite you to check our website, hbcrunforcanada.ca, for final results and a 2007 event photo gallery. We also hope to see you in 2008 as Hbc continues to support Canadian athletes by adding great new locations and incentives.
We can't wait to see you next year!
