Welcome to Red Deer!Come run or walk in Red Deer - a thriving city in central Alberta, and the province's third largest centre! The city is located in aspen parkland, a region of rolling hills where oil, grain, and cattle are produced. Among other things, Red Deer is important for oil and agriculture distribution, and the surrounding region is a major centre for petrochemical production.
Heritage Ranch is the location of this year's Start/Finish line, and also where hungry racers will find the food tents, along with terrific entertainment. Heritage Ranch is a gateway to Red Deer's Waskasoo Park, and the ideal place to learn more about Alberta's thrilling Western heritage. As always, the race itself is a treat for the senses, taking in the magnificent Alberta landscape.
Along our various event routes you won't be able to miss the Red Deer River, flowing from the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. You'll also run or walk through some of the city's many beautiful parks and trails, offering venues for all kinds of activities including biking, paddling, skating, bird watching, picnics, and peaceful walks along tranquil rivers.
